The Web Things . . .

Here are some tips to make your internet experience
more enjoyable and productive.


Most people use the 'net to look for something.
So ... Click here for the mother of all search pages.
If you can't find it here, it's not out there !


These keyboard shortcuts work on any .htm or .html file (webpage).

Ctrl+d = Add to Favorites
Ctrl+h = Open History Folder
Ctrl+b = Organize Favorites
Ctrl+n = New Browser Window
Ctrl+w = Close Window
Ctrl+r = Reload (Refresh) Window
Backspace = Return to Last Page
Alt+Left Arrow = Go Back
Alt+Right Arrow = Go Forward



And, you've GOT  to click here for the ultimate  shortcut guide.



If you have a scroll wheel,
press the Ctrl key and roll the wheel back and forth.
Surprise  !   This works on almost all web pages.




These are scriptlets. Right click on them and add to your Favorites.
They allow you to set page look for best view.
And you can open links in different window, too!
Try them now.
Try ' Remove Background ... ', then ' Highlight Links '.
Then click ' This Page '.
These will work on the majority of web pages and browsers out there.
Pretty slick ......

Remove Background Image

Split Frames Into Windows




Here's a slick trick for gathering images.
Much faster than the "Save as...", etc. routine.

First, make a folder on your desktop.
Call it Piktemp (or whatever).
Next, open the new folder.
Now, go to a web page that has an image you want.
Left click on the image and hold the mouse button down.
Drag the image to the new folder and release the mouse button.
Surprise! Your image has been saved.
Now rename the image to whatever you want.

You can make sub-folders in the new image folder too.
Make one for .jpg, .bmp, .gif, etc..
This way, you can organize and name your images all in one place.
